Paul Taylor

Paul Taylor is President of TransAlta USA, a subsidiary of TransAlta Corporation, a leading generator and marketer of wholesale power and renewable energy, which operates in Canada, the United States and Australia. TransAlta’s U.S. operation includes 17 power plants providing reliable energy utilizing a variety of fuel sources, including coal, hydro, gas and geothermal. Taylor had previously served with TransAlta in the 1990s as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. His energy experience also includes serving as President and CEO of NaiKun Wind Energy Group, an offshore wind developer.

Mr. Taylor's public sector career includes serving as Chief of Staff to the Premier of British Columbia, B.C.'s Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to the Treasury Board and President and CEO of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Mr. Taylor held a number of political and management roles within Alberta Treasury in the 1990s. He was also Manager of Volunteers for the 1988 Calgary Olympic Winter Games.

Mr. Taylor has served on boards in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. These include NaiKun Wind Energy Group, BC Forestry Investment & Innovation, TransAlta New Zealand, TransAlta Power Ltd., The Conference Board of Canada and the World Wildlife Fund - Canada.
