Do you need access to personal information or other kinds of records at ICBC? Or, do you have an ICBC-related privacy complaint?
Our Privacy and Freedom of Information department is here to help. We provide access to records and respond to privacy complaints in accordance with B.C.'s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
Under FIPPA, you may make a request for access to records in the custody or under the control of ICBC. This includes anything on which information is recorded or stored.
We'll do our best to provide access to the records you're entitled to under FIPPA, unless an exception applies and information may be withheld. (see Division 2 — Exceptions).
Under FIPPA, there's no charge for accessing your own information. For all other records, you may need to pay a fee if searching, locating and retrieving the files takes longer than three hours.
For more information about fees, see Schedule 1 of the FIPPA regulations.
Please note that we can't accept email requests for records.
Note: you can also email your privacy complaint, but please be aware that email sent to us isn't encrypted. This means it could be intercepted by other internet users without your knowledge or permission.
We don't recommend emailing information to us that you consider confidential.
