checkbox

Never carry a child in your arms while riding in a motor vehicle. You cannot protect them during a crash.

checkbox Always ensure that children are correctly restrained in child seats that are appropriate for their weight and age. This is the best protection you can provide for your children.
checkbox Never place a rear-facing infant seat in a passenger seat that has an active air bag.
checkbox Buckle up all children, 12 years and under, in the back seat.
checkbox When your child outgrows the forward-facing convertible seat (at approximately 4½ years of age), switch to a booster seat. The booster raises the child so the lap belt fits over the pelvic bones (not across the stomach) and the shoulder belt fits properly across the child's chest. Do NOT move your child to the next seat too soon.
checkbox Older children are ready for an adult seatbelt system at approximately 8 years of age and 80 pounds.
checkbox Never restrain two children in one seatbelt. The forces of a frontal crash can throw them violently together as their bodies attempt to occupy the same space.
checkbox Aftermarket seatbelt adjusters that change the path of the shoulder belt can be unsafe and are not recommended.
checkbox Read your vehicle owner's manual and child seat instructions for additional seatbelt and child seat information.
