Meeting your adjuster

What will I need to bring to my first interview?

To avoid delays, it's very helpful to bring the following information to your meeting with your adjuster:

TIP: Bring as much information about your crash as you can. This might include drawings, photographs, or other evidence.

Can I bring a friend or relative?

Of course you can. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible about dealing with ICBC, especially if English is not your first language. When you meet with an adjuster we welcome friends or relatives who can help you understand the process and the language, if that's an issue.

Can I get a cash advance to help with bills?

In certain circumstances we may be able to provide you with a cash advance. Feel free to discuss your financial needs with your adjuster at any time.

How will I know what is going on with my claim?

Ask for a Claims Plan Form

During the first meeting with your adjuster make sure you ask for an ICBC Claims Plan Form. Essentially, this is a "To Do" list for you and your adjuster, intended to improve your claims experience.

BOTH you and your adjuster must fill out the form. When completed it will clearly state:

The form is your assurance of quality claims handling from ICBC and a helpful guide to the claims process that you may consult as your claim moves forward.
