At ICBC, we want to be certain your vehicle receives safe, high quality repairs. So we've worked with the collision repair and auto parts industries to develop standards of performance that ensure all parts used to repair your vehicle are as good as those they're replacing.

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Parts

OEM parts are made by the vehicle manufacturer or one of its licensees. OEM parts are warranted by the vehicle manufacturer for a specific period of time.

Recycled Parts

Recycled automotive parts are parts removed from dismantled vehicles and used to repair other vehicles. Automotive recycling plays a major role in resource conservation by saving the energy and raw materials needed to produce new parts and reducing waste in our landfills. Only quality recycled parts of equal age or newer will be used in the repair of your vehicle.

B.C. automotive recyclers provide warranties that meet or exceed those provided on OEM parts.

Exchange/Remanufactured Parts

Some parts can be recycled, but must first be reconditioned to ensure they're as good or better than those they're replacing. Exchange/remanufactured parts share similar conservation benefits as those described in Recycled Parts.

Aftermarket Parts

Aftermarket parts are new parts made by a company other than the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). All aftermarket parts meet or exceed all safety and design standards that apply to them, and are comparable to original equipment in fit, form and material composition.

B.C. aftermarket parts suppliers provide lifetime warranties on all parts used for your vehicle repairs - good for as long as you own your vehicle.
