Replace a lost or stolen enhanced identification card

If your enhanced identification card (EIC) is lost or stolen, call the EDL Customer Line immediately at 1-866-972-6888.

You'll also need to book an appointment at an EDL designated driver licensing centre to replace your EIC.

Booking an appointment

The easiest way to book an appointment to replace a lost or stolen EIC is to use the EDL Online Booking Services.

Important!

  • The lost or stolen status stays on your EIC record until a new EIC is issued to you.
  • Your EIC will also be confiscated if you try to use it at the U.S. border while it's status is lost or stolen.
