Should I apply for disability payments from Employment Insurance (EI)?

If you were employed at the time of the crash, yes. Employed people who are disabled in a motor vehicle crash may be eligible for up to 15 weeks of Employment Insurance sickness benefits. If you are claiming ICBC wage loss benefits, you should apply for EI benefits immediately after a crash. EI has a two-week waiting period before benefits begin.
