Passive versus active immobilizers
there are two types of electronic immobilizers: passive and active
Passive systems automatically immoblize your vehicles engine when you turn off the ignition. You don't have to remember to set them. The benefit of this is consistent protection.
Active systems must be turned on manually. Because they rely on a person remembering to do this, they are less effective than passive systems.
