Fred brings many years of broad management experience to ICBC, having worked in senior positions for a wide range companies.
After working in the natural gas industry in the U.S., Fred worked as a consultant in the energy field. He relocated to Paris, France, to assist in the development of a North Sea natural gas pipeline project. He then returned to the U.S., joining a team at Pacific Gas and Electric Company that was responsible for the design and construction work on a project to deliver Canadian and Alaskan natural gas to California.
In 1986, Fred moved to B.C. and joined Terasen Gas. As a vice president, Fred’s responsibilities included budgeting, planning, real estate, information technology and engineering. From 1998 until 2001, Fred worked in the venture capital field, identifying and assessing prospective real estate and resource development acquisitions in India and Eastern Europe.
In 2001, Fred joined ICBC as Director, Corporate Services. This department (now Procurement & Corporate Services) provides support services to other ICBC departments in environmental management, building operations, real estate, corporate security and document management.
Fred is married, and enjoys travelling and collecting antique pewter.
