Donnie Wing — Chief Financial Officer


Donnie Wing originally joined ICBC in 1987 and became the Manager of Agency & Financial Audit. He then spent three years with BC Hydro in an internal management-consulting group. As the Manager of Corporate Financial Models, he was responsible for the corporation's long-term financial planning. He left BC Hydro to work for the provincial government's Crown Corporations Secretariat (CCS) as a Senior Advisor and Acting Director responsible for oversight of Crown corporations operating in the energy and insurance sectors. Donnie's assignments at CCS included working on the auto insurance product reform project.

Donnie re-joined ICBC in the fall of 1998, eventually assuming the role of Vice President, Investments and Corporate Development. In this role, Donnie oversaw ICBC's $7-billion investment portfolio as well as the company's BCUC regulatory functions. In 2004, he also took on the acting role of Senior Vice President of Insurance. Donnie moved into the Senior VP of Insurance, Marketing and Underwriting position full-time in March 2005. In May 2008, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer on an interim basis.

Donnie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Accountant with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He began his accountancy career with KPMG Chartered Accountants.

Donnie was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada when he was 11 years old. He grew up in Nelson, B.C. Donnie is married and has two children. He enjoys coaching his son's soccer team and skiing.
