Programmer Analyst IV — Ad # 6427
North Vancouver
The successful candidates will be part of the BOE/MAS Support Team within IS Enterprise Support Services. This team is responsible for the technical support, sustainment, system administration, and IT governance of both the Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) and Microsoft Analysis Services (MAS) environments. Duties include:
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
- Providing migration services for Crystal Reports and OLAP "cubes"
- Upgrading, testing, and implementing changes, fixes, patches, and software versions
- Providing general administration support for BOE and MAS
- Ensuring BOE/MAS standards, processes, and procedures are followed
- Monitoring and optimizing the BOE and MAS environments for efficiency and stability
- Being a technical resource to developers, technical support groups, and project teams.
To be successful in this role, post secondary education related to information technology and several years of related experience and progressive levels of responsibility in leading computer programming projects and supporting software systems.
Your qualifications also include a thorough knowledge of, and working experience in:
- Business Intelligence (BI) platform support and service delivery processes, tools, and industry trends.
- Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) XI and/or Microsoft Analysis Services (MAS) System Administration.
- Developing Crystal Reports for reporting and distribution in BOE.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Knowledge and relevant experience in the following areas is an asset:
- Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and database concepts
- SQL Server and Oracle
- Data Warehouse concepts
- Client/Server concepts and technology.
