Programmer Analyst (Data Warehouse) — Ad # 6446

Within ICBC’s Data Warehouse function there are various exciting opportunities for individuals who seek to work closely with management and staff to develop information solutions that will support ICBC’s lines of business.
In partnership with business clients, the Data Warehouse (DW) teams design and develop usable, reliable, integrated, secure data analysis and reporting tools to support decision making throughout the corporation.
We are looking for a Data Warehouse developer to work specifically on business intelligence / data warehouse projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the role of a programmer analyst within IS Business Information Services. In this position, you would provide technical expertise and/or lead project teams in the design, development and implementation of reports or other analytical solutions to meet client business requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work will involve leading and / or working on several work items simultaneously.
- Work will involve interfacing with Business Analysts to understand business requirements in order to design, build and sustain business intelligence solutions (including Crystal reports and Microsoft Analysis Services cubes).
- Knowledge of Data Warehouse methodology would be an asset.
Your qualifications include:
- Experience with creating work plans.
- Demonstrated skills in computer programming specifically with PL/SQL (Oracle), UNIX.
- Experience with Business Objects reporting (Crystal Reports) and distribution (Business Objects Enterprise / Crystal Enterprise ePortfilio)
- Knowledge of On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP)
- Demonstrated skills in Data Warehouse process modeling
- Knowledge of IMS, DB2, PL1, JCL and MVS
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices relating to software development.
