Claims Support Assistant — Ad # 6580
Employment Type: Temporary or Permanent
Location: Downtown Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey
We are seeking applications from dynamic and flexible administrative support professionals who want to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Entering and editing transcribed correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, logs and other related material;
- Assisting in opening, maintaining and closing claim files;
- Reviewing file information, verifying accuracy and taking corrective action;
- Maintaining and updating all statistical documents/ information and databases to ensure accuracy and departmental standards are met.;
- Reviewing and processing vendor and non-vendor payments as well as authorising payments and signing cheques within limits; and
- Responding to enquiries from staff, clients and the public regarding claim file information.
Your qualifications include:
- High school graduation, and some combination of coursework in Legal, Medical or Administrative Assistant programs;
- Typing speed of 60 n.w.p.m. or higher;
- Dicta-typing experience and alpha-numeric data entry with a high degree of accuracy;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Initiative and good judgment to be proactive and determine priorities;
- Ability to multi-task and to be flexible to adapt to changing work demands, volumes and schedules;
- Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel;
- Good business English, grammar, punctuation and spelling; and
- Ability to perform routine tasks accurately.
