Senior Media Relations Advisor — Ad # 6595

Location: North Vancouver, BC
The Communications division has a challenging opportunity for a Senior Media Relations Advisor. You will play a key role in issues management, and in identifying opportunities to create positive media coverage.
Your responsibilities include:
- Developing, coordinating and delivering key media messages, briefings and materials;
- Ensuring timely responses to media enquiries and acting as the primary corporate spokesperson;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key media reporters, editors, publishers and others, to enable effective media relations activities; and
- Participating in the development of the corporate media relations strategy through consultation with others in the department and with executives and business units, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Leading and conducting media monitoring and analysis, tracking issues and assessing the effectiveness of media plans and activities.
Your qualifications will include:
- Superior relationship and organizational skills;
- Excellent internal and external customer services skills; and
- Minimum of five years experience in media relations preferably in the insurance, financial services, or public sector environment.
