Loss of Use Coverage

RoadsidePlus's Loss of Use Coverage pays you back for the cost of getting around if you can't drive your vehicle because of a claim under your Autoplan Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Perils coverage. It covers:

If you're not at fault for a crash

You may have the right to a substitute vehicle as part of your claim against the at-fault motorist. However, sometimes it takes awhile to settle the issue of fault. Don't worry. Loss of Use Coverage provides coverage immediately.

If you are at fault

Loss of Use Coverage also pays for substitute transportation in a claim where you are at fault.

Payment Limits

RoadsidePlus Loss of Use Coverage allows:

Note: Payments for substitute rental vehicles are limited to vehicle makes and models specified by ICBC that are similar in size to your own vehicle.

Length of Coverage

If your car can't be driven, coverage starts right away after the crash. It ends as soon as the vehicle is repaired or when ICBC has made you an offer of settlement for a total loss, or when the limit of coverage has been reached, whichever comes first.

If you can drive your vehicle, you're covered for loss of use only while it is in the shop being repaired, or when the limit of coverage has been reached, whichever comes first.
