Class 6 road test
After you have spent at least 24 months (without prohibitions) in the Novice stage driving with an N sign on your vehicle, you may take the Class 6 road test. Passing this test means you exit the graduated licensing program and get your Class 6 motorcycle driver's licence.

Test highlights
- Evaluates the same See-Think-Do
skills as the Class 8 road test does, but in more demanding environments.
- Gives you the chance to show that you
are now a safe, experienced rider with excellent vehicle control
skills who uses the key
riding skills.
- An ICBC driver examiner rides behind
you in a car, speaking to you by radio. (We provide the radio.)
- You will perform riding maneuvers,
including 50 to 55 intersection manuevers.
- At certain points during the test, you
will asked to pull over to the side of the road, then identify
all the hazards
you see in front, to the side and behind you.
- The test and examiner feedback takes
about one hour.
What you need to know
- You are eligible to take the Class 6 test on or after the earliest exam date (EED) shown on the back of your licence.
- You must book your Class 6 road test
in advance. (See Phone
for a road test.)
- You must provide a motorcycle for your road
test. It must be in good working order. Ensure the vehicle insurance
is valid and that your registration documents are available. You
do not need to own the motorcycle, you can borrow it from a relative
or friend for example.
- The Class 6 road test fee
is $50. If you pass, you will also need to pay for your licence.
Please be sure to bring proper
identification.
- Make sure that the vehicle you provide
for your road test is licensed, insured and in safe condition.
