Test highlights
- An ICBC driver examiner rides behind
you in a car, speaking to you by radio. (We provide the radio.)
- You will perform riding maneuvers
including 35 to 40 intersection maneuvers, while the examiner
marks your ability to drive in a safe, smooth, controlled manner.
- Evaluates your See-Think-Do
skills.
- Gives you the chance to show that you
are a safe rider with excellent vehicle control skills who uses
the key
riding skills.
- At certain points during the test, you
will asked to pull over to the side of the road, then identify
all the hazards
you see in front, to the side and behind you.
- The test and examiner-feedback take about
45 minutes.
What you need to know
- You must book
the Class 8 road test in advance.
- You must provide a motorcycle for your road
test. It must be in good working order. Ensure the vehicle insurance
is valid and that your registration documents are available. You
do not need to own the motorcycle, you can borrow it from a relative
or friend for example.
- Class 8 road test fee:
$35. If you pass, you will also need to pay for your licence.
Please be sure to bring proper
identification.
- If you don't pass, you may take the test
again after 14 days. (You will have to pay the $35 fee again.)
- Make sure that the vehicle you provide
for your road test is licensed, insured and in safe condition.
