How can I renew or replace my licence?
- If you're a new B.C. resident, you have within 90 days of moving here to replace your current licence with a B.C. driver's licence. It's a good idea to start as soon as possible.
- Has your B.C. driver's licence expired? It is up to you to renew it. You may do this up to six months before the expiry date. This is usually every five years on your birthday. If you'll be outside B.C. when your licence expires, you should renew your licence early.
- Lost, stolen or damaged licence? You can easily replace it.
- For all licensing services, please bring the correct fees and required ID.
- Here's how to get a B.C. Identification Card.
Paying for licensing services
All ICBC Driver Licensing Centres will accept cash, a certified cheque or money order, Interac (debit), Visa or MasterCard.
If you live in a smaller community and plan to renew your licence at a Government Agent or Appointed Agent, please phone ICBC Customer Contact at 1-800-950-1498. We'll let you know if credit cards are accepted there.
Paying fines and debts
Any outstanding court fines or debts owed to the province or ICBC must be settled before you can get a new or replacement driver's licence.
