The next project is to correctly install
the child seat in your vehicle. You'll probably think it's a challenge
just getting it into the vehicle while it's still in the box. But
don't panic. We have some basic tips for using and installing child
seats.
Before you start, check the manufacturer's instructions
and your vehicle owner's manual for installation instructions.
Remember, you're not alone. ICBC has skilled
personnel available to help you. If you need more information or
want someone to check your installation, visit
the next child seat clinic being held nearest you or call the
BCAA/ ICBC Child Seat Information Line at 1-877-247-5551.
All
children 12 and under should be restrained in the back seat. It's usually the safest
location in the majority of crashes.
NEVER place a rear-facing infant seat in a vehicle seat that has an air bag.
