Road Sense Tips

Driving during disasters and emergencies

If a disaster strikes, stay off the Disaster Response Routes.

Check the provincial government's Disaster Response Routes site to see if a route includes streets or roads that you frequently use. Warning: even the biggest-scale map does not show all street names.

The best way to be certain is to look for route signs in or near your neighbourhood. What you learn will help you think through the transportation tactics to be included in your family's disaster plan.
