James Tan, Vice President, Claims Customer and Material Damage Services



Hi, I'm James (he/him). I help ensure that our customers receive great service when making claims and that their vehicles are safely repaired or they're fairly compensated when repairs cannot be made. Since joining ICBC in 2010, I've led several initiatives focused on making insurance more affordable for British Columbians, including the Rate Affordability Action Plan and our shift to Enhanced Care.

Previously, I spent a number of years in the consulting industry with Accenture and Ernst & Young, working across multiple sectors such as utilities and government. I have a Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. I have a passion for food and have been known to travel great distances to fulfill my cravings.​
