ICBC Driver Licensing and Road Safety Presentation

Friday, March 8, 2019
Coquitlam, B.C.
4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC)
200-504 Cottonwood Ave

ISSofBC is pleased to host ICBC Licensing and Road Safety workshops specifically designed for new permanent residents aged 14-28. These workshops include Driver Licensing and Road Safety presentations by ICBC Road Safety and Community Coordinator Kathleen Nadalin.

Participants will also obtain hands on road safety experiences through the following activities:

  • Fatal Vision Goggles walking challenge. The Fatal Vision Goggles offer sober people an opportunity to experience what it’s like to navigate basic tasks after drinking. They give participants a safe way to learn the important lesson that alcohol greatly impairs a person’s balance, vision, reaction time and judgment.
  • Distracted Driving Simulator Video Game. The driving simulator allows individuals to experience first-hand the dangers of distracted driving using a tabletop simulator that includes a computer screen, steering wheel and gas/brake pedals. After being shown how the simulator operates, participants will do a practice drive before putting their skills to the test on a course while responding to questions by text message.
