ICBC is a Crown corporation that provides auto insurance for all B.C. motorists.

We offer Basic, which is only available from ICBC, and Optional extended coverages.

Most drivers in B.C. must have Basic Autoplan. It gives you the minimum coverage you need.

Basic Autoplan coverage includes up to $150,000 in Accident Benefits, and up to $200,000 for damages claimed by other drivers.

You can buy Basic from one of 900 Autoplan brokers across B.C.

Broker

A person licensed to sell insurance. Autoplan brokers are insurance brokers who have been authorized by ICBC to sell Autoplan coverage.

Own Damage coverage

Protection against your own vehicle-related losses where they are not the fault of another motorist from whom you can recover damages. Such protection is provided by Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Perils coverage. This coverage is not included in Autoplan Basic Insurance and must be purchased separately as optional coverage. For protection against harm or damage you may cause against others, you must purchase Third Party Liability Insurance.
Premium

The amount of money you pay to the insurance company for your coverage. All premiums are pooled by the insurance company, which then uses that money to pay out claims. Learn more about how premiums are set»
