About ICBC

A collaborative work environment

No matter what kind of work we do, it takes a team to make it a success. We foster collaboration across all our teams, while valuing the unique contributions each of us can bring.

How we encourage a respectful and inclusive workplace

We aim to foster an inclusive environment where employees feel like they can bring their own unique perspectives to work.

All ICBC staff are bound by our Respectful Workplace Policy, which recognizes that we all have the right to work without bullying, harassment or discrimination. This policy also helps all of us better understand how to identify, defuse and report these behaviours if they arise.

Our seven Employee Resources Groups (ERGs) connect employees across the organization with their colleagues who share a common identity or want to be allies.  These ERGs help us advance our diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility goals by sharing feedback and improvements and supporting underrepresented groups. Each group is sponsored by a member of ICBC's Executive Leadership Team and their work is guided by an employee-created vision statement.

Our ERGs are:

  • Caregivers

  • Disability & Accessibility

  • Environmental

  • Ethnicity

  • Indigenous Peoples

  • 2SLGBTQIA+

  • Wellness

  • Women in Leadership

Our hybrid work models

Most ICBC roles allow a combination of in-office and remote work, so that you can benefit from in-person time with your colleagues and maintain a work-life balance that suits your needs.

If you’re new to a hybrid work model, we have curated learning paths available to you so you can navigate it successfully and make the most of your face time with colleagues as well as your time working offsite.

For your days at your office, we offer bookable desks at some ICBC locations. If you’d like to make improvements to your set-up at home, we offer employee discounts on equipment and furniture through our partner providers.

Recognizing your unique contributions

When you go over and above in your role, we’re committed to recognizing your achievements. We’ve established an employee recognition program that encourages your colleagues to thank you for a job well done or recognize a significant professional milestone.

We recognize years of service and invite teams to create their own recognition events.

Our “Dress for Your Day” dress code allows you to come to work looking and feeling confident, in the business casual clothing that makes you feel your best. And yes, that includes jeans.
