We're making commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility to better serve all British Columbians.
In 2023, we launched our first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Action Plan. The five-year plan aims to advance an inclusive and representative culture by:
Building equity, diversity and inclusion into our policies, processes and products. We know that customers benefit when diversity, equity and inclusion are at the foundation of all that we do.
Developing a talented, diverse, engaged and representative workforce. Diverse and engaged teams are more innovative and are better problem solvers.
Creating meaningful and sustainable change for all British Columbians. ICBC touches the lives of British Columbians and these commitments can have far-reaching impact.
We know that we play an important role in the lives of all British Columbians and that it’s important our employees reflect the diversity of the Province.
We measure our representation of Indigenous peoples, women, people with disabilities, people of colour and 2SLGBTQIA+ people against the existing workforce in B.C.
Equity is about fairness and understanding our employees’ experience. Their ability to advance is key to ensuring that people are treated fairly and are not encountering barriers.
Our annual Employee Opinion Survey helps us understand how our employees experience respect, belonging and opportunity. ICBC employees are asked how they self-identify so we can make sure people are supported to be successful throughout their time at ICBC.
Ensuring that people feel a strong sense of belonging and respect is key to creating an inclusive workplace for employees to flourish and customers to benefit.
We are looking at how we can embed inclusion into all aspects of our employees’ work, from those in leadership roles to customer-facing teams.
We’re committed to creating accessible environments for our employees and customers. As a result, we’ve created Accessibility Principles and Pillars.
